POLLY DUTTON

Polly's abstract realism paintings are inspired by her environment. She explores her own emotional response to a time and place as well as the particular energy of the weather and the light. Polly endeavours to capture the essence and a sense of a place.

Initially, Polly works outside in the landscape and create sketches and written notes. She focuses on the light, the sounds around her and the energy of the place.

Polly’s purely abstract work reflects her internal landscape.

She works with a variety of materials intuitively with a focus on process. Initially she gives no conscious thought to the work as she add layers of paint, and or other materials. Once she gets to a point when the work ‘feels’ right she will begin the process of refinement with much more conscious cognition.

Polly’s paintings are with private collectors throughout the UK, Holland, Australia and the U.S.

Polly’s creative process…

When she is not sketching or painting, she is either walking with my dogs or working in my garden.  Polly's work is so often inspired by nature so she is constantly looking and taking in the sense of a place.  Creating a garden is so like painting, choosing a palette, composition and design - also letting Mother Nature give her the happy accidents!
